Mr. Tom Perrine, School Counselor

When my oldest daughter entered elementary school in 1995, I began to spend a lot of time volunteering in her school.  I was immediately and forever drawn to the energy and wonder that children bring to learning.  And, so, after a successful eighteen year career in Corporate Purchasing, I decided to return to graduate school full-time to embark on a new career as a School Counselor.  I am now in my 20th year as a School Counselor, and 16th at Shakerag.  Every day, I am certain that I have the most fulfilling job in the world, and I am even more thankful to be a part of this wonderful Shakerag community!

I hold a B.S. in Business Administration from The University of Connecticut (GO HUSKIES!), M.S. in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Hartford Graduate Center), and M.S. in Professional Counseling from Central Connecticut State University.

I am originally from Stewart Manor, NY.  Until moving to Georgia in 2004, most of my adult life was spent living in rural Eastern Connecticut.  My wife, Alison, is a retired teacher from Shakerag.  Our family consists of Colette, who lives in Seattle, Owen, a college junior, and Elizabeth, a college freshman. My family and I enjoy spending time at the lake and beach, watching college football and basketball, and puttering around the house (yes, I love yardwork).
